Ebadot Hossain rules out of the Asia Cup 2023. Medium pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib is replacing the former in the squad. The decision was taken after the impressive performance in the Emerging Asia Cup this year.
Ebadot Hossain ruled out of Asia Cup
“Ebadot had undergone six weeks of rehab following the injury. We have had multiple MRIs done during this time and the reports suggest that his ACL is still a concern and requires further management. Therefore, he misses out on the Asia Cup,”. BCB Chief Sports Physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury was saying by ICC.
Dr Debashis Chowdhury further said that
“Considering the importance of the Bangladesh team’s next major event, which is the ICC World Cup in October. The BCB is committed to exploring every safe medical option available for getting Ebadot back to full fitness. And playing as early as possible, including consultation and treatment overseas,”. Chowdhury added.
Furthermore, Shakib Al Hasan is likely to lead the Bangladesh team for both the Asia Cup and the World Cup. Tamim Iqbal missed the Asia Cup due to injury. The former captain of the group is undergoing rehab in Bangladesh. Tamim announced retirement earlier and made a u-turn after the PM’s meeting.
