Khaled Mahmud fined by Bangladesh Cricket Board for smoking

Bangladesh cricket director was standing on the field smoking. Many people condemned Khaled Mahmud when this video spread on social media a few days ago. The Bangladesh Cricket Board however did not let him go. BCB fined Mahmud. The board punished the former captain of the country.

The game of Bangladesh Premier League was going on. Khulna team coach Khaled Mahmud was seen smoking at that time. Sikh Sohail, the Chairman of Bangladesh Disciplinary Committee, moreover said,

“A mistake is a mistake. We do not want to compromise with any fault. Smoking in dressing rooms is illegal. We will not spare anyone if we make a mistake. 30 percent of the match fee is deducted. Along with that two demerit points were given to him.”

Other player fined for breaching rules, apart from Mahmud

Khaled Mahmud smoked in the dugout during the match of Khulna Tigers against Fortune Barisal on this Saturday. He has the former captain of Bangladesh Men’s national cricket team. While the respective teams’ players were busy playing on the field, Mahmud was seen standing in the dugout and smoking. The broadcaster’s camera also showed the scene on the giant screen set on the field. Mahmud himself saw it. Henceforth, he immediately tried to hide the cigarette. But half the job was done before Mahmud realizing it. By then that video has spread on social media.
Not only Mahmud, the Bangladesh Cricket Board also fined Shak Mehdi Hasan, Nicholas Pooran and Mosaddek Hossain. BCB said that they also broke the rules. 25 percent of Mehdi, Mosaddek and 30 cents of Puran’s match fee have been deducted.
