Officials of BCCI and ICC inspect Eden Gardens ahead of the World Cup.

Officials Inspection in Eden Gardens

They were also happy with the work being done at the new player’s dressing room, hospitality box, corporate box, and the already completed Press Box and Media Centre,”. The biggest cricketing event is all set to start on  October 05 in India. The opening match is going to be the finalist of the last World Cup in Narendra Modi Stadium. International Cricket Council (ICC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Officials inspect as it hosts many big matches. However, the match between England and Pakistan is likely to change as CAB put up a request to BCCI. This is due to the festival in Kolkata police protection is not possible for the match. The match is likely to be move out from Kolkata.

Eden Gardens are going to host the following matches

Netherlands vs Bangladesh (October 28), Bangladesh vs Pakistan (October 31), India vs South Africa (November 05), and England vs Pakistan (November 12). Furthermore, the the second semi-final on November 16 is going to take place in Eden Gardens only. If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals and the opponent is India, the match will be in Kolkata.
